A total of 353,009 people of Ukrainian nationality presented residence documents in force in our country as of June 30, 2026, which means a year-on-year growth of 8.2%, with 25,675 people more than in June 2025, driven mainly by residence permits for temporary protection.
Hours quoted to Social Security increase by 16.9% and effective days quoted by 15.6% from pre-pandemic levels
The indicator of days quoted to the Social Security has increased by 18.1% from 2019 to March 31, 2026. If the actual days quoted are taken into account, the increase is 15.6%, according to the latest statistic published today by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, reiterated the Government’s commitment to improving the provision for Care of Children affected by Cancer or another Serious Disease (CUME) in the meeting she has held in recent days with the associations of relatives ‘CUME Nos Une’, ‘ASFACUME’, ‘Caretaker Lazarillo’ and the Spanish Federation of Childhood Cancer Families, in an open and permanent dialogue process that she has maintained with them in the processing of the draft new regulation of this Social Security Benefit.
More than 231,000 parents enjoy a birth permit extended to 19 weeks, 32 in the case of single-parent families
In the first half of this year, 108,614 mothers and 123,042 fathers benefited from the childbirth and childcare allowance, extended in July 2025 to 19 weeks, in general, and to 32 weeks for single-parent families, which entitles them to 100% paid leave.
