Más de 560.000 hogares han recibido el Ingreso Mínimo Vital

The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 560,809 households in which 1,579,949 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security until the end of January. This benefit, which is paid for by Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since 42.8 per cent of the total beneficiaries are minors (676,288). In addition, if we consider the number of households, in 65.6% there is at least one minor (368,069).

According to these data, in two out of three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54.3 per cent are women (858,445).

Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), there are already 314,369. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.

IMV Information Bus

The IMV information bus, an initiative that the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration launched last October, aims to inform all those vulnerable people, potential beneficiaries of it but who are not receiving it, and help them in their case to make the application or to know the status of it.

This is a new initiative to extend the scope of the IMV and ensure that all situations of poverty and exclusion are addressed.

The information bus, which plans to travel 40 locations in our country, has already stopped in 20 municipalities and districts of seven autonomous communities where it has served 2,510 people.

In January, since the second stage began, the information bus has traveled for eleven days to the towns of Berriozar (Navarra), Albacete, Murcia, Lorca (Murcia), Torrevieja (Alicante) and Alicante, serving 741 people.

Profile of the people served

As for the profile of the total number of persons assisted (2,510) by this resource, 68% are women and 55% had already applied for the benefit previously.

Among those who had already requested the IMV, 49% were in the process and, among those who had not requested it, 35% was due to ignorance and 32% explained that it was because they thought they did not meet the requirements.

On the motivation of the people who have approached the bus this month, 70% did so to request information, 26% to resolve doubts and 3% to be accompanied in the processing.
