The Social Security registered 2,462,109 foreign affiliates in October, once the seasonality and the calendar effect were discounted. There are 22,441 more workers than the previous month and it raises to 155,445 the increase of this collective so far this year. If we take February 2020 as a reference, before the impact of the pandemic, the system records an increase of more than 272,000 foreign workers.

This figure represents 12.2% of the total number of Social Security members in seasonally adjusted terms in October.
Average affiliation
In average terms and without seasonality, that is, in the original series, Social Security had 2,462,506 foreign contributors in October, of which 842,430 are from countries of the European Union (34.2%) and 1,620,076, from third countries (the remaining 65.8%). In total, they represent 6,487 affiliates more than the previous month.
Fifty-six per cent are men (1,378,943), while 44 per cent are women (1,083,563).
The largest groups of foreign workers come from Romania (335,785), Morocco (296,835), Italy (162,349), Colombia (124,668) and Venezuela (120,969).
In the last twelve months, the average membership of workers from other countries has grown by 8.9%, that is, it has added 201,362 employed.
More than 60,000 Ukrainian affiliates
In addition, among other nationalities, there are 60,131 affiliates from Ukraine. It is 12,872 more than in January, the month before the impact of the war.

The majority of workers from Ukraine who work in our country, almost 90%, are covered by the General System, that is, they are salaried workers and 10% are self-employed.
Regime and sectors
The majority of foreigners are affiliated to the General Regime, a total of 2,052,936, or 83.3 per cent.
For its part, the Autonomous System has 404,352 foreign affiliates. Of the total number of foreign self-employed workers, the highest percentage of contributors comes from China (15.3%), Romania (11.1%) and Italy (8.9%).
As for the sectors of activity, among the employed, the strong increase in the field of Education (20%) and also the increase in the Special Agricultural System (4%) stands out. The largest decreases were recorded in Agriculture, Livestock, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (-7.8%) and Hospitality (-5.9%).
By territories, in the last month, the average affiliation of foreigners increased especially in Andalusia (4.32%), Region of Murcia (4.14%) and Valencian Community (3.45%).
