Entra en funcionamiento la primera fase del Centro de Emergencia, Acogida y Derivación en el Acuartelamiento ‘Primo de Rivera’ en Alcalá de Henares

The Emergency, Reception and Referral Centre that the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has launched at the Primo de Rivera Quartering in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) hosts from this Tuesday the 264 first migrants who will be housed there. The first phase of this device is already available and in the following weeks it will be progressively expanded to reach a maximum capacity of 1,134 seats.

Accem is the entity that will be in charge of the management of this new resource, which has entered into operation without any type of incident. To this device are added the ones opened this month also at the Naval Hospital of Cartagena and the General Arteaga Aqueduct in Madrid. 
These devices, in addition to the own resource opened in Mérida in the hostel ceded by the city council, will allow to increase the capacity of the reception system by more than 3,700 places and gradually release, depending on the arrivals, those opened in other resources used circumstantially in recent weeks to address the peak of arrivals to coasts that has occurred.
Before the opening of the center, the heads of the State Secretariat of Migration met with the City of Alcalá de Henares to explain in detail the operation of this resource.
