Secretary General for Inclusion

Elena Rodríguez Navarro

Secretary General of Inclusion, after being advisor of inclusion policies for the last four years, first, in the General Secretariat of Inclusion and, later, in the Cabinet of the minister.

She is a sociologist of training and has dedicated her professional career to the promotion of social policies, from the public and private spheres. She served as Presidential Adviser during the 8th and 9th Legislatures, where she worked as Cabinet Director and the Department of Institutional Affairs as Head of Strategic Communication and Advice on Public Policies on Social Welfare and Equality.

She has also been director of the Third Sector Platform, an organization that brings together more than 28,000 social action entities and works for the promotion of the rights of people, mainly those who are in a situation of vulnerability.

The closeness and knowledge of the Third Sector have been fundamental to know objectively the social reality and situations of poverty and exclusion experienced in our country. This is an essential area to implement a policy such as Minimum Vital Income and the development of inclusion policies linked to the provision.

Elena Rodríguez is a sociologist at the Complutense University of Madrid and has had research experiences applied to social sciences in international universities such as Stanford University or the Institute of Education of the University of London.
