El ministro Escrivá se reúne con agentes sociales y entidades del tercer sector en Tarragona

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, visited Tarragona this Thursday on an official visit, and there he gave two conferences and met with social agents and representatives of the third sector. He has also visited the offices of the National Institute of Social Security and the General Treasury of Social Security and has met with its territorial officials and workers, whom he has thanked for their commitment and dedication.

The working day, in which the minister has been accompanied by the delegate of the Government in Catalonia, Maria Eugènia Gay Rosell, and the subdelegate of the Government in Tarragona, Joan Sabaté, began with a conference in the Bar Association of Tarragona on the reforms of the regulation of the Aliens Act in which he has placed the emphasis on the objective of these initiatives to “promote regular, orderly and legal migration and cooperation with the countries of origin, and create procedures more reasonable and adjusted to the reality of migrants.”

In addition, Minister José Luis Escrivá spoke at a conference organized by the Gresol Foundation, in which he gave a lecture on “policies to achieve inclusive growth in times of uncertainty”. Faced with situations such as the pandemic and now the war and its effects, public policies “must be able to counteract these consequences and give certainty to citizens,” Escrivá stressed. The minister has highlighted the reforms and measures agreed by consensus, “such as Minimum Vital Income and pension reform.”

Finally, the minister held a meeting with representatives of the unions and associations of the third sector in the Cooperativa Obrera de Tarragona, in a dialogue during which the social protection and income measures that the Government is taking to mitigate the impact of the rise in prices and protect the most vulnerable, especially the Minimum Vital Income.
