The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Migration, Isabel Castro, held a meeting by videoconference with the executive director of the European Union Asylum Agency (EUAA), Nina Gregori. At the meeting, both the heads of the Ministry and those of the Agency showed their willingness to continue deepening the current collaboration, so that the technical and training support provided by the Agency is extended until the end of 2023 and includes the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Minister of Inclusion and the Executive Director of the EUAA agree on the importance of evaluating migration policies and prioritizing quality and efficiency in the reception models of migrants. The new Operational Plan that will be developed in the coming months will focus on the context generated by the growing pressure on the system of reception of applicants for international and temporary protection due to the crisis in Ukraine.
