Almost 180,000 people fleeing the war have received temporary protection in our country

The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has awarded 32 Distinctions of Inclusion and Migration to so many other natural and legal persons in recognition of their involvement in hosting Ukrainian refugees. The minister, José Luis Escrivá, highlighted “the enormous commitment shown by all of them and a tireless work, without which the reception of these thousands of people would have been much more complicated”.

Escrivá highlighted how “the outbreak of war in Ukraine sparked a huge wave of solidarity, with the participation of many institutions and citizens, who have contributed to making the arrival of these people very agile and making their stay in our reception centres as easy as possible for families who come from a very complicated situation”.

Until June 23, a total of 179,758 people from the Ukrainian war had received temporary protection, which allows them to have a residence and work permit in Spain. Of these, almost 18,000 are registered with the Social Security.
