The information bus of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) will be tomorrow Saturday 21 and Monday 23 January in Lorca (Murcia), in Torrevieja (Alicante) on 25 and 26 January and in Alicante, on 27 January. Citizens who are interested both in knowing the benefit and the status of their application or want to know if they are entitled to it and, if applicable, request it, can go without the need for an appointment.
In Lorca, both on Saturday and Monday, it will be parked in the La Merced parking area; on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26, in Torrevieja, in the Paseo de la Libertad with Plaza Capdepont (next to the PANGEA Office); and on Friday 27, in the Plaza Séneca in Alicante. The hours of care are from 9 to 14 hours and from 15 to 18 hours.
This week the bus, which was put into operation in October 2022 with the intention of approaching the possible beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income who have not requested the service and inform about it, has been in Albacete (16 and 17) and Murcia (19 and today 20). Since the beginning of this service of ‘mobile office’ and until today at 12:00 has been attended in total to 2,055 people.
With regard to the profile of the persons cared for, 69% are women, and 54% had previously applied for the benefit. Among those who had already requested the IMV, 48% were in the process and, among those who had not requested it, 35% was due to ignorance and 33% explained that it was because they thought they did not meet the requirements.
On the motivation of the people who have approached the bus, 67% did so to request information, 29% to resolve doubts and 4% to be accompanied in the processing.
More than half a million households with IMV
The Minimum Vital Income (BMI) has reached 549,670 households in which 1,542,675 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security until the end of December. This benefit, which is paid by Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since 42.7 per cent of the total beneficiaries are minors (659,424).
