The information bus of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) will be next Monday, January 30 in Alicante, on February 1 and 2 in Valencia and on February 3 and 4 in Castellón. Citizens who are interested both in knowing the benefit and the status of their application or want to know if they are entitled to it and, if applicable, request it, can go without the need for an appointment.
In Alicante, the bus will be parked on January 30 in the Plaza Séneca, in the same place where it is today; on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2, in Valencia, next to the Fountain of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, between Carrer d'en Llop and Carrer de la Sang; and on Friday 3 and Saturday 4, in Castellón, in Passadís de les Arts (Ribalta Park) with Pl. Independence. The hours of care are from 9 to 14 hours and from 15 to 18 hours.
The bus, which was launched in October 2022 with the intention of approaching potential beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income who have not requested the benefit and informing them about it, was this week in Lorca (23), in Torrevieja (25 and 26) and in Alicante today. Since the beginning of this ‘mobile office’ service and until today at 12:00 a total of 2,390 people have been served.
With regard to the profile of the persons cared for, 69% are women, and 54% had previously applied for the benefit. Among those who had already requested the IMV, 49% were in the process and, among those who had not requested it, 36% was due to ignorance and 33% explained that it was because they thought they did not meet the requirements.
On the motivation of the people who have approached the bus, 69% did so to request information, 26% to resolve doubts and 4% to be accompanied in the processing.
More than half a million households with IMV
The Minimum Vital Income (BMI) has reached 549,670 households in which 1,542,675 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security until the end of December. This benefit, which is paid by Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since 42.7 per cent of the total beneficiaries are minors (659,424).
