Publication: "RAXEN Report. Solidarity or xenophobia? Towards a world response for peace. Issue 56. December 2015"
-
- Synopsis
This report presents an overview of the so-called “refugee crisis” and its links to the consolidation and advance of the extreme right in Europe. In addition to the terrorist attacks’ effects, it depicts the increase of intolerance speech and Islamophobia tied to the stigmatization of this group. It also argues that in the face of this phenomenon, the response cannot be any other than more democracy, a rejection of xenophobia and an international response for peace.
The report contains an editorial, a section with research on xenophobia, racism and intolerance in Spain’s Regions, tracking of the news reports in Spain, other news of interest related to these issues, and a final chapter with documents referring to recommendation number 8 on the general ECRI policy to “combat racism in counterterrorism efforts”.
