    • Synopsis

This report is based on results obtained from a survey conducted by Spain’s Sociological Research Centre (CIS) in 2008 under the title ‘Attitudes towards immigration’. Knowledge of Spaniards’ perception of immigration is a must in order to implement public policies and strategies preventing and combating racism and xenophobia.

The report is divided into three sections. The first presents how Spaniards’ receptiveness towards immigration has evolved, the second analyses immigrants’ social integration, and the third describes harmonious interaction with immigrants and immigrants’ image.
