Functions

  1. To draw up plans to adapt the General Plan of Public Accounting to the entities that make up the Social Security system, which the General Intervention of Social Security must submit to the decision of the General Intervention of the State Administration.
  2. Promote the exercise of regulatory authority with regard to the structure, justification, processing and accountability of accounts and other documents relating to public accounting in the field of Social Security.
  3. To prepare and propose the approval of the resolutions, instructions, circulars and orders of service that, as the center of public accounting in the field of Social Security, should be dictated to the General Intervention of Social Security.
  4. Organize, direct and promote the computerization of accounting in the centers, services and dependencies of the Management Entities, Common and Mutual Services of Accidents at Work and Professional Diseases of Social Security, for which purpose it may seek the collaboration of the bodies that have responsibility in each case for the management of the computer resources available to the aforementioned centers, services and dependencies.
  5. To form the General Social Security Account and its complementary documents, prior to the consolidations and aggregations that may be appropriate in each case.
  6. To request the presentation of the accounts, statements and other documents to be submitted to the Court of Auditors.
  7. Examine the accounts to be submitted to the Court of Auditors through the General Social Security Intervention, making any observations it deems necessary.
  8. Centralize the information deducted or related to the accounting of the Management Entities, Common and Mutual Services of Work Accidents and Professional Social Security Diseases.
  9. Monitor and promote the activity of the accounting offices of the Management, Common and Mutual Services of Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases of Social Security, as well as advise and issue opinions on accounting matters, and exercise the powers of accounting inspection attributed to the General Intervention of Social Security.
  10. Centralize, compile and systematize the information related to Social Security, to be sent to the General Intervention of the State Administration for the preparation of the economic accounts of the public sector or for the preparation of forecasts, analyses and reports on its performance, deduced from the accounts of the Management Entities, Common and Mutual Services of Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases of Social Security.
  11. Carry out the studies and reports that within the scope of his competences are entrusted to him.
  12. To check and monitor the monitoring of the indicators and objectives of the Managing Entities and Common Services as provided in article 126.1 of Law 47/2003, of 26 November, General Budget (BOE of 27-11-2003).
