On May 15, Social Security membership recorded 21,783,878 jobs in the daily series, which is 229,742 more than at the end of April.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, highlights that: “Affiliation data continue to demonstrate the dynamism and good health of our labor market. We’ve managed to get more than 21.7 million Social Security members in the first half of May in the daily records.”
While the series in seasonally adjusted terms reached 21,557,126 members in the first half of May, thanks to an increase of 45,531 members in the last two fortnights.
If we deduct seasonality and the calendar effect, in the last year affiliation has grown by 463,803 people, a figure in line with both pre- and post-pandemic levels, with an increase of 193,719 affiliates since the beginning of the year 2025.
With data available through May 15, the total number of affiliates has increased by 719,583 people in the adjusted series since December 2023, and by 1,780,562 since December 2021, prior to the entry into force of the labor reform.
