The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has praised the “agile and transformative response” that the workers of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) have given both to the challenge of the pandemic and to the need to implement quickly and effectively the successive legal reforms and innovative benefits that have been launched in recent years.

During his speech on the first day of the annual meeting of provincial directors of the INSS, which this year meets in Seville, Escrivá stressed “the enormous effort made during the pandemic by the workers of the INSS, the entity responsible for paying pensions and managing Social Security benefits, not only in keeping the system in very difficult conditions but in developing benefits that have been fundamental to neutralize the effects first of the pandemic and now of the war”.

The minister encouraged the INSS leaders to continue their protective work and to deepen the modernization and digitalization processes they are already undertaking in order to serve citizens more effectively, a challenge for which they will have “the very important reinforcement that the latest Public Employment Offer represents to increase the institution’s workforce.”
