During her visit to Malaga, the Secretary of State for Migration, Isabel Castro, visited the headquarters of the Moroccan Association for the Integration of Immigrants, where she learned about the development of three projects carried out by that association funded by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
The projects focus on comprehensive care for migrant women in situations of gender-based violence, providing legal protection to victims of racism and xenophobia by promoting hate crime reporting, and combating Islamophobia through awareness-raising, in collaboration with the Observatory against Racism and Xenophobia (OBERAXE). Isabel Castro has been able to talk to some of the participants in the programs.
During her visit to Malaga, the Secretary of State also went to the Reception, Care and Referral Centre (CREADE) for people displaced by the war in Ukraine. This centre has served some 13,000 people in the 13 months since its opening, providing temporary protection, reception, referral and other services to achieve a rapid inclusion of refugees in Spanish society.
