Functions

 

  1. To formulate proposals and recommendations aimed at promoting the integration of immigrants and refugees in Spanish society.
  2. To receive information on the programmes and activities carried out by the General Administration of the State in the field of social integration of immigrant persons, as well as those developed in cooperation with other public administrations. Also, receive information on the plans and programs of the autonomous and local administrations.
  3. To collect and channel the proposals of social organizations active in the field of immigration, with a view to facilitating the perfect coexistence between immigrants and the host society.
  4. Prepare an annual report on the work and activities carried out.
  5. Prepare an annual report on the situation of the social integration of immigrants and refugees.
  6. To prepare reports on proposals, plans and programmes that may affect the social integration of immigrants, on its own initiative or when required by the competent bodies of the General Administration of the State.
  7. Promote or develop studies and initiatives on issues related to the social integration of immigrants and refugees.
  8. Cooperate with other similar bodies at international, regional or local level with a view to coordinating and improving all actions that benefit the social integration of immigrants and refugees.
  9. Any other actions deemed necessary in relation to the integration into Spanish society of legally established immigrants, as well as any other that the current provisions attribute to it.
