1. The organization and management of the procedures for granting authorizations provided for in the general regulations on foreigners and immigration or other regulations whose resolution corresponds to the General Directorate of Migration.
2. Functional coordination with other management centres and immigration offices, as well as support for peripheral bodies of the General State Administration, and monitoring their performance in work and residence authorization procedures, or in immigration matters falling within their competence.
3. The justified proposal of needs of means and infrastructures for the management of immigration procedures and coordination for their implementation by the competent bodies.
4. The organization of collective management of contracts at origin, the processes of selection and contracting of foreign workers in their countries of origin, or foreigners documented with job search visas, as well as support for selected workers and monitoring of contracts.
5. Coordination with the autonomous communities that have attributed competences in terms of authorization to work.
6. The recognition and design, implementation, coordination and development of the return plan for Spanish emigrants.
7. The management of subsidy and aid programs aimed at Spaniards abroad and returnees.
8. The recognition and management of economic benefits and assistance for Spaniards abroad and returnees.
9. Functional coordination of the action of the organs of the General Administration of the State in the territory with competence in matters of returned emigrants.
