Functions

  1. The administrative management of the management and control of the right to economic and other short-term benefits of the Special Social Security Scheme for Seafarers recognised under national regulations and Community regulations.
  2. The management. Recognition, administration and control of the right to economic benefits of the Special Social Security Regime for Seafarers recognized under bilateral social security agreements.
  3. The administrative management of the management and control of the right to unemployment benefits and cessation benefits for self-employed workers when the latter have covered professional contingencies with the Social Institute of the Navy.
  4. The administration and control of the issuance of the European Health Insurance Card and of the forms for the right to health care provided in other countries, as well as the management and proposed payment of the expenses corresponding to the reimbursements for health care provided in another State under the international instruments of Social Security.
  5. In collaboration with the General Treasury of Social Security, the direction, promotion, control and implementation of the service instructions in the field of setting, registration of companies, affiliation, dismissals, and variation of data of workers included in the Special Social Security Regime of Seafarers, management of special agreements, registration of boats and floating devices, contribution and voluntary collection.
  6. Technical support and collaboration in the field of conventions, agreements, treaties and international organizations, within the scope of their competences.
  7. Collaboration with the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate through the annual plan of objectives.
  8. The administration and control of the right to receive and maintain public aid per stop of the fleet, as well as the proposal of the expenditure corresponding to the management that in this matter can be entrusted to the Social Institute of the Navy, acting in this field as an intermediate body for the management of the European Fisheries Fund.
