  • Report - Survey 2016. Evolution of racism, Xenophobia and other forms of Intolerance in Spain
    • Synopsis

The Report is based on the results obtained from the survey carried out in 2016, under the name of Attitudes towards Immigration carried out by the Center for Sociological Research (CIS). The survey analysis has been carried out from a triple perspective: univariable showing trends in racism and xenophobia indicators since 2007, when made possible by the variables, or since 2008; bivariable, examining the main indicators of social cohesion based on attitudes and prejudices; and multivariable, extracting the most relevant dimensions and developing a typology of Spanish profiles before them.

The results of the analysis of attitudes and perceptions of Spaniards towards immigration in 2016 and their comparison with previous years, show a favorable evolution in all the variables that measure the racist, intolerant or xenophobic attitudes of the respondents, reaching, in many cases, in 2016 the best behaviors of the series analyzed.
