- Synopsis
This report is based on the results obtained from a survey conducted by the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) in 2012 under the name Attitudes towards immigration VI. In order to implement public policies and strategies to prevent and combat racism, xenophobia and other related forms of intolerance, Spaniards’ perception of immigration must be ascertained.
The report reveals citizens’ concern about immigrants’ employment and the perceived threat they pose. This gives rise to the need to raise awareness and improve harmonious interaction by promoting knowledge about the benefits of a plural, intercultural society.
